Glycolic Acid 7% is a watery night toner for skin that looks dull and feels rough. Wear sunscreen the next day.
DECISION SNAPSHOT
The toner you reach for when your face looks tired and feels a little rough. The Ordinary’s 100ml Glycolic Acid 7% is a watery leave-on acid, with aloe and a pepperberry extract to take the edge off. Use it at night, a few evenings a week at first, and your skin has a chance to look smoother and brighter.
SIMPLI VERDICT
You, if texture and dullness are the things you notice in the mirror, and you are happy to wear sunscreen every morning while you use it.
Your skin is sensitive, peeling, or already angry, or you are already using a retinoid or another strong acid. This is an active. It is not a hydrating splash.
Start-Safe: Two or three evenings a week on dry skin, then stop if it stings past a short tingle. Do not pair it with another acid the same night. Sunscreen the next morning, and for a week after you stop.
This is product-level guidance, not a personal routine recommendation. If you already own a suitable product doing this job, you may not need another one.
PRODUCT GUIDE
Check what this product does, how to use it, what is inside and the practical details that matter before you decide.
A 100ml bottle of The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner. Watery, leave-on, and made to sweep over your face at night so dull, rough-looking skin can look smoother. Aloe, ginseng and Tasmanian pepperberry sit alongside the acid. The pepperberry is there to soften the irritation acids are known for.
The colour can shift a little from bottle to bottle. That is the plant extract, not a spoiled product.
Evening, on a clean, dry face and neck. Cotton pad or fingers. Do not rinse it off, and keep it away from your eyes. Follow with moisturiser. The next morning, sunscreen, and keep wearing it for a week after you pause the toner. Glycolic acid makes skin more sensitive to the sun.
You can also use it on a dry scalp three times a week, massaged in and left on. On the face, start slower than the label’s once-a-day.
Start-safe: two or three nights a week. If it stings and stays hot, rinse it off and this is not your acid.
Seven percent glycolic acid in a watery toner, with aloe, ginseng and Tasmanian pepperberry. No fragrance oil.

No. It is an acid you leave on. Use it when you want smoother-looking skin, not when you only want a hit of moisture.
The Ordinary says once a day, in the evening, once your skin is used to it. Start with two or three nights a week. Daily is a later decision, made by how your face feels.
Yes. The morning after, and for a week after you stop. That is part of using this toner well.
BEFORE YOU BUY
A better routine is not always a bigger routine. Check whether this product adds a job your current routine is actually missing.
If a gentler acid already keeps your skin smooth and you like it, finish that one. This is for when you want a straightforward 7% glycolic toner.
Leave it if your skin is happy and you have no roughness to smooth. An acid is a choice, not a missing step.
